Citizenship

Citizenship is a common bond that unites people to civic ideals and a belief in the rights and freedoms guaranteed in the United States Constitution.

Becoming a U.S. citizen is one of the most important decisions an immigrant can make. Depending on their circumstances, there may be different paths to citizenship.

  • Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign national after they have met the requirements established by the United States Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

  • Acquisition of citizenship through American parents at birth and another after birth but before reaching the age of 18.

These are some requirements you must meet if you want to apply for US citizenship:

  • You must be 18 years of age.

  • Be able to write, read and communicate orally at a basic level of English (this requirement depends on your age).

  • To have impeccable moral conduct.

In addition to the above, you must meet one of the following conditions:

  • You need to prove that you are a legal permanent resident of the United States; you must have a Green Card or have been residing legally in the United States for about 5 years.

  • Being married to a U.S. citizen.

  • Currently serving or having served in the United States Armed Forces.

  • Being the child of a U.S. citizen.

At PROIMSOL we provide you with exceptional service in filling out the "Application for Naturalization" form so you can achieve your dreams of becoming an American Citizen.
